Does Spider-Man: Far From Home contain a Nova Easter Egg?

pic20190703132746393639951685023687.jpgSpider-Man: Far From Home hit cinema’s yesterday and like every Marvel Studios film it contains a wealth of callbacks to the extensive Marvel Cinematic Universe history and of course there are those hard to see Easter eggs that fans keep an eye out for. One of those Easter eggs may hint at the future introduction of Marvel’s cosmic superhero, Nova.

It’s a very easy to miss Easter egg that appears when Peter and his class are on the plane flight to Venice. During the flight Peter is shown flicking through some in-flight videos, one of those is called Finding Wakanda but more interestingly there is one titled Nova.

But is it actually related to Nova the cosmic superhero? In the MCU, why would there be a documentary about a hero that has seemingly not been introduced into the world yet, at least not on Earth. On the other hand, it is a very particular name to put into the film and fans would immediately think of the hero when seeing the name Nova pop up in a Marvel Studios film.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has previously mentioned that Nova is a character that has “immediate potential” in regards to joining the MCU. Avengers: Infinity War & Endgame writers Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely even considered introducing the character during Infinity War. It seems as though Nova is a character that will appear in the future with the seeds already planted back with the introduction of the Nova Corps during Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014.
