Avengers: Endgame left fans with many questions. Time travel opened up a world of new possibilities including alternate realities and even a Multiverse as revealed in the newest Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer. One of the big lingering questions revolves around 2012 Loki. The God of Mischief managed to sneak off with the Space Stone when the Avengers travel back to 2012, leaving fans to speculate if he has now created his own reality, with the general belief being that this will lead into his Disney+ series. The directors of Endgame, Anthony & Joe Russo, discussed Loki with the Business Insider and confirmed that Loki has indeed created his own timeline.
Joe Russo:
Loki, when he teleports away with the Tesseract, would create his own timeline. It gets very complicated, but it would be impossible for Cap to rectify the timeline unless he found Loki. The minute that Loki does something as dramatic as take the Space Stone, he creates a branched reality.
Anthony Russo:
We’re dealing with this idea of multiverses and branched realities, so there are many realities.
Endgame may have been the culmination of 11 years of movies but the impact the film has had on the Marvel Cinematic Universe will likely be felt for years to come, starting with the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home.
