Please be aware the below contains spoilers for Avengers: Endgame
Among all the Easter Eggs that eagle eyed fans are picking out from Avengers: Endgame, one seems to be flying low as it looks as though Brian Braddock, better known as Captain Britain, gets his name referenced!
During the time travel that sees Captain America & Iron Man travel back to 1970, Cap enters Peggy Carter’s office at which point she can be seen having a conversation with somebody else. Although difficult to hear, it has been confirmed by fans using closed captioning devices during cinema screenings, Peggy says “Braddock hasn’t checked in. I’m not a meteorologist and it’s not lightning.”
Whilst Captain Britain seems the likely candidate for this reference, it should also be noted that it could be a nod to his twin sister, Elizabeth Braddock, better known as X-Men’s Psylocke. However it’s very unlikely that this reference is for Psylocke given the clear intentions set out by Marvel Studios’ to not introduce Disney’s newly acquired X-Men any time soon.
There is no way of knowing if this is just an Easter Egg for fans to pick up on or whether it will have further implications further down the line. For now, we can all only speculate like we always do. But could this be our first indication that Marvel has plans to introduce Captain Britain in the future?
