The next movie from the world of DC comics puts the spotlight on arguably the most famous comicbook villain of all time, Joker. The first poster and teaser trailer can be viewed below, with both offering a look at Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role as the iconic character.
Set in the early 1980s, Joker follows the origin story of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a failed stand up comedian who turns to crime in Gotham and inevitably becomes the Joker we know today.

Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker has a release date of October 4th 2019 and also stars Robert De Niro, Marc Maron and Zazie Beetz. It has been announced that this film will be independent and take place outside of the DCEU.
