The “Thanos Did Nothing Wrong” Subreddit is banning half its users

On July 9th, half of the users who have subscribed to R/ThanosDidNothingWrong will be banned to honor the Mad Titan. In Avengers Infinity War, Thanos wipes out half the universe with a snap of his fingers, and the subreddit is paying homage to this in spectacular fashion. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be…

The subreddit was originally full of fans posting memes and jokes, the usual things you expect to see on Reddit. What started out as a joke picked up speed very quickly and led to an admin of the subreddit, The-Jedi-Apprentice, trying to discover if he really could ban half of the subscribers. When he initially made contact with the Reddit admins, they weren’t keen on the idea of banning half the users, to which the subreddit responded with 36,000+ upvotes saying they want this to happen. Due to this response, the admins have given permission to carry out Thanos’ will, and in a few days half of the users will be removed from existence. Since the discussion of wiping out half the subreddit had come around, the subscriber count has grown exponentially and now boasts more than 280,000 subscribers with the number constantly increasing. Dread it. Run from it. Destiny still arrives…

If you want to be part of this huge event, be sure to head over to R/ThanosDidNothingWrong and subscribe. Good luck surviving!
