The world record holder for most Marvel comic book character tattoos (31!) – Meet Rick

It’s not unusual to see people with comic related tattoos these days, with the upsurge of Marvel in mainstream pop culture over recent years. However Rick Scolamiero took his love for Marvel that step further than most and now holds the Guinness World Record for most Marvel tattoos at a staggering 31 tattoos! What makes this feat even more impressive is the quality of the tattoos that Rick has as they are truly works of art. Rick was kind enough to answer a few questions for us which you can read below and we borrowed a few pictures from his Instagram (@scu11y) for you to see.

Did you always plan to get many Marvel tattoos or did you get one and it went on from there?
About 7 years ago I started my first Marvel sleeve, I didn’t think I’d end up with so many so on that sleeve I had gotten a few of my top favourite characters.

Do you have a favourite Marvel tattoo?
It’s hard to choose just one but I’d probably have to say my Spider-man since it was the first one I got done and it’s the one I get to see the most.

Do you have a favourite hero/villain and do you have them tattooed?
Too many to choose from but my favourite villains are Galactus and Thanos and I have both of them tattooed on me.

Are you strictly Marvel or do you have some other comic-related tattoos?
Mostly Marvel but I’ve got 2 DC tattoos and I also have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles back piece.

Do you plan to add any more ink (if you’ve got the space), if so who do you want to get done in the future?
I only have a couple small spots left and I’m going to be doing Ant-Man and Wasp in those spots.

Have you had the chance to show your tattoos to anybody in the Marvel universe?
No I haven’t had the chance, but I’d love the opportunity to show someone in the Marvel universe.
